RECRUITMENT
We conform and aspire to exceed the National Minimum Standards, Care Quality Commission regulators and Local Authority performance indicators. We respect and welcome government initiatives to introduce outcome focused, people centred care; whereby service users have control over the desires and expectations of services.
Each carer undergoes continuous training that ensures that we deliver the highest quality services to you. This training includes a full induction programme (including a minimum 3 days orientation programme); shadowing or working alongside an experienced colleague; completion of a workbook checklist and other form of open learning; training on Health & Safety including Manual Handling, Infection Control, basic First Aid and Food Hygiene. All Care Workers will be expected to complete the relevant NVQ qualification in Care and newly appointed staff are required to demonstrate their competence and register for this within the first six months of employment.
Specialist advice, training and information are given to care workers working with specific user groups and/or medical conditions by someone who is professionally qualified to do so.
EXTERNAL INSPECTIONS – we receive regular inspections from the local offices of the Care Quality Commission and Local Authorities (on behalf of whom we provide services). Copies of the latest announced and unannounced inspection reports may be consulted upon request as soon as one is carried out by the authority.
Part of the policy documentation that we are obliged to have in place is a “Statement of Purpose”. This Policy summarises our organisation, the services that we offer, fees charged and the staff that perform care duties. Should you wish to consult this document in full, please call us.
We are committed to providing quality services for our service users by caring, competent, well trained staff in the service user’s own home.
This will be achieved by:
- A staff development programme.
- Recruitment of staff who share our values
- Provide all mandatory training and other specific training.
We have a comprehensive system in place to manage and monitor service delivery performance and collate appropriate data to measure actual delivery against agreed and required services
- Service User consultation and satisfaction surveys.
- Management review of our Quality Management System.
